How to select the right kitchen

How to select the right kitchen
When it comes to kitchen design, there are many options to choose from, but not many sources offering information on what the options are. Are you planning a kitchen renovation at your property? We have put together the information on the most commonly used kitchen cabinets in NZ and give you tips on which ones may be right foryou. Types of Kitchen Cabinets: Solid Wood Melamine Particle Board Melamine MDF Ply Wood Melamine particle board and Melamine MDF are the most commonly used materials in New Zealand. MDF is an engineered wood composite that is similar to particle board but is much denser and stronger than particle board and more resistance to water damage. Plywood is the other option but because of its high price is not very popular for residential use. Ply Wood is a material manufactured from thin layers or “plies” of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. Plywood is stronger and more water resistant compared to Particle board or MDF board. To give you a better idea about those products have a look at attached photos. Cabinets: The inside of the most kitchen cabinets in New Zealand are constructed from Melamine particle board. This is a product manufactured from a wood bi-product core sandwiched between two layers of melamine material. To increase our product quality, we use Melamine Plywood for our under sink cabinet which is most resistance of all three options against water and moisture damage. Doors: Melamine doors The greater percentage of kitchens installed in New Zealand still consist...

Maintain To Profit Renovations and the team were contacted by a homeowner, whose property in Wordsworth Road was in need of repair and renovation. Ramin met with the homeowner and they discussed what the needs were in the home and what the homeowner wanted to accomplish by the end of the project. Some before and after photos from the Wordsworth Road project are below. Take a look through and see the transformation for yourself. The Kitchen Although not in terrible disrepair, the kitchen of this property was looking tired. The cabinets had ingrained grime and the tiled back-splash certainly was in need of an update. Some of the cabinet doors had long fallen off and were nowhere to be found.                           There was a doorway that lead directly into the kitchen. This was blocked off and the kitchen gained well needed space. This allowed for extra storage and new cabinetry. The colour scheme was kept neutral so that the scheme would not age so well as colour trends change in the future and new hardwood laminate flooring was installed. This instantly freshened the area and is a practical solution to a high traffic area like a kitchen. The Dining Room The dining room was stuck in an 80s time warp. The yellow stained glass and brown joinery made a tired, cramped space look and feel much smaller than it truly was. What a transformation! Ramin and his team extended the hardwood laminate flooring from the kitchen all the way through to the Dining Room. This elongates both spaces...
